Today, 7am
Navaratri day 5 worships Skandamātā, who is four-armed, three-eyed, and rides on a lion. One of her hands is in the fear-dispelling Abhayamudra, while the other holds her son Skanda on her lap. Her remaining two hands hold lotus flowers.I know so many versions of this goddess in real life … today, I bow to all of you. ️
Day seven of navaratri is my favourite because is it dedicated to Kalaratri, who informs present representations of Kali, to whom I am devoted. Even more meaningfully for me, Kalaratri rides a donkey (️)..She is considered the fiercest form of the Mother Goddess, her appearance itself invoking fear. But she makes her devotees fearless too..She is the power of the most darkest of nights. At the end of Time, when destruction makes its arrival, the goddess transforms herself into Kalaratri, who devours all Time, without leaving any remains.
