I have been thinking a lot about the compulsive repetitions in Martin Arnold’s work and how truth has an insistence and will be heard, eventually. I never thought Alphonse Mucha would be someone I would cite but his study of hands for his poster of Sarah Bernhard’s Medea was impeccable. The problem with Mucha is not his work, I realise, but the context he has been put in (and his view of women too).
