Before going open my summer holidays, I asked on social media for crime novel recommendations and Laura Lippman’s name is one that often came up. I liked all the different elements of this book (tone, story, characters, setting) but somehow I did not like it all together. I felt I did not care much for this book. I had to start reading Gandhi’s autobiography at the same time and it somewhat was a lot more appealing to me, which is odd when it comes to crime fiction.
